Graduated cum laude in Business Administration from Parma university, Andrea Casalini is a shareholder and the Chief Executive Officer of Eataly Net, the company of the Eataly group, focused on international e-commerce of high quality food and beverage products. Andrea is a senior executive with more than 28 years of experience in growth-oriented companies, mainly in the IT/digital industry.
From 2000 to 2014 he was CEO of Buongiorno SpA, a worldwide leading company in digital entertainment content for mobile terminals. He has driven the company journey across all its different phases: from a start up to a listed company on Milan Stock Exchange to being part of a large multinational telecommunication group (after the 230 million euro Public Tender Offer by NTT DOCOMO in July 2012). Previously, was with EDS, Electronic Data Systems, where after signing a very large and successful outsourcing deal with the ENI group, he took responsibility for the Italian operations and later for the E-solutions line of business at EMEA level. At the beginning of his career, he was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company (Milan and Chicago) and Accenture (Bologna).
He has been and is an investor in several digital start ups, including Restopolis, sold to Trip Advisor last year, and Dove Conviene. He invests also through Borealis Tech Ventures, an early stage investment vehicle he has created together with some entrepreneurs form Parma. Since 2008, he is an independent director within the Board of Gruppo Mutui on Line, listed on the Mila stock exchange, and he has been director of other several digital companies.
