Layla Pavone

During her university studies, Layla Pavone collaborates for 4 years with an Italian publisher as a journalist. After her degree – Political Sciences – in 1987, she attends the first Italian Corporate Communications Master and at the end of 1988 she starts working as Communication Manager in one of the most important Italian newspapers and magazines sales-house: SPI Società per la Pubblicità in Italia (Publicitas Group).

From 1991 to 1993 she works for a brand new newspapers sales-house: Quotidiano Italia (joint venture between SPI Società per la Pubblicità in Italia and SPE Società Pubblicità Editoriale) with the same function. From 1993 to 1995 she moves to Poland to work for the first – at that time – national daily-newspaper “Zycie Warszawy”, with the objective to establish the new sales-house and working as a communication and advertising manager for the TV Syndication “Polonia 1”. The owner of the two companies was the Italian publisher Nicola Grauso. From 1995 to 1997 she contributes to the foundation and development of the first Italian Internet service provider: Video Online, working as a Corporate Communications Manager and Marketing and Advertising Development Manager, starting to create the new advertising media. The first banner in 1995 in Italy was sold by her.

From 1997 to 2000, thanks to the experience earned on the Internet combined with the advertising and communications skills, she works in the sales-house Publikompass (Fiat Group Holding), creating the first Internet Media Italian business unit dedicated to the development of Internet advertising sales. She is Chief of the sales-force and Head of relations with 35 Internet Publishers/Media Owners. From 2000 to April 2014 she’s been working at Dentsu Aegis Network as Isobar Italia Managing Director. Isobar Italia, part of Isobar Global Network is a full digital agency, specialized the consultancy and development of interactive marketing and advertising services (content, media and creativity). She created from scratch: the Online Media Planning business unit Carat Interactive, the Search Engine Marketing business unit in 2005 (now iProspect), the Performance Marketing business unit and in 2009 (now Amnet) and the Social Media business unit.

From 2003 to 2010 she is President of IAB Italychapter of Interactive Advertising Bureau Europe Association. Since 2010 she’s been Honorary President of Iab Italy. From 2005 to 2007 she is also President of IAB Europe. Since 2012 until 2015 she’s been President of Centro Studi of ASSOCOM (Italian Association of creative and media agencies) and Member of Audiweb Board of Directors – Joint Industry Committee dedicated to Internet audience measurement. Actually she is member of the Board of Directors of Il Fatto Quotidiano, the most important Italian independent newspaper off and online.

She was awarded the “2005 Premio Bellavista” – dedicated to the key person that most helped the development of the Internet Culture”; in 2007 she received the “Award for Excellence” from the Association of Italian Managers; in 2008 she received the “2007 Communications Women” award from Club del Marketing e della Comunicazione. In 2010 she was nominated “Communication Ambassador” by NC New Communication Publishing. She is author of different publications, both academic and commercial. She is Co-Director of the Master for Digital Communications Specialist at Almed-Università Cattolica in Milan.

In April 2014 she joins Digital Magics as Partner. Digital Magics is a certified incubator of innovative digital startups, offering content and services with high technological value, in addition to scaleups – innovative companies that are experiencing a period of growth and expansion.
