Riccardo Porro started his career in 2007 working as Programme Officer of the Scientific Research Department of Fondazione Cariplo. He currently manages different projects and programmes in the areas of education, material sciences & enabling technologies, life sciences (NTDs) and technology transfer.
He collaborates with the staff of Microsoft Italia and Fondazione Filarete promoting the creation of new start-ups through the initiative Startup Revolutionary Road and with Novartis, PoliHub and Humanitas he ideated the initiative BioUpper. He also designed the Foundation Policy on Open Access and he has been member of the national taskforce on open access (MedOANet Project). He also coordinated a foresight analysis and a study on the Italian scientific research infrastructures. In January 2014 he started working on the RRI Tools project a three year long project funded under the European Commission (EC) Seventh Framework Programme (FP7 2007-2013) to foster Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) in Europe.
